New HELMEPA Junior Program 2019-2020

31 Oct 2019

An increased interest on the part of the educational community for the new HELMEPA Junior Program of the 2019-2020 school year is noted. With the announcement of its approval by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and within just one week, 220 teachers have applied, forming 400 Groups with 3,750 children, from 114 schools across the country.

With the aim to improve the program, as we do every year, for the benefit of the educational community, we developed the new one by taking into account the comments and suggestions received from participating teachers of the previous school year, as well as observations of HELMEPA’s respondible staff.

In particular, the adjustments made for this year include a wider range of educational games and experiments, dissemination of printed informative material to volunteer teachers, such as posters, leaflets, calendars and stickers, and also the awarding of Commemorative Diplomas to all children who will participate in the 2020 Panhellenic Drawing Contest titled:

“We love the Planet, our blue home!”

Similar interest is shown by teachers for the two permanent environmental Exhibitions, hosted by Member Companies Costamare Shipping Company SA in Palaio Faliro and Ceres building in Piraeus. Up todate, 60 visits of 1,800 students and 120 accompanying teachers have already been scheduled until the end of the school year.

Moreover, the latest issue of the “Glaropoula” newsletter has been sent to the last year’s program participating educators and can be found at the following link helmepajunior.wordpress.com/τα-γλαρόπουλα/ (only in Greek).
