AMSA Presentation and Announcement of new HELMEPA project on Maritime Safety Culture

Within the context of the close collaboration between HELMEPA and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority – AMSA, the CEO of AMSA Mr. Mick Kinley is visiting Piraeus on Thursday 3 October for an informative presentation to HELMEPA Members and the wider maritime community. The attendees will have the opportunity to be updated on current issues and directly seek answers to questions regarding the requirements for ships operating in Australian ports, in order to get better prepared for PSC inspections.

Earlier the same day, Mr Kinley will join the panel of a Press Conference for the presentation of the new project Enhancing the Understanding of New and Enduring Challenges in Maritime Safety Culture in the Eastern Mediterranean”, which is kindly financed by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF) and implemented by HELMEPA as coordinator, in cooperation with CYMEPA, the Hellenic Lloyd’s and DYNAMARINe as partners.

This meeting, which is the outcome of our longstanding close collaboration with the USCG, may prove particularly beneficial for the managing Companies, since it allows not only to directly address questions but also to exchange proposals for improvements in key procedures and build useful contacts with CG officials responsible for PSC in the US.

Only representatives of Managing Companies with vessels registered as HELMEPA Members are eligible to participate in this meeting. Those interested may register their participation by email at, along with proposed Agenda items that they wish to discuss or clarify during the meeting.
