“9 Steps for Cleaner Seas and Beaches”

Α “pocket” leaflet where HELMEPA presents in brief the problem of pollution from single use plastics, providing useful information on the threat mainly to marine life, as well as to ourselves. The leaflet proposes 9 simple steps that we can all follow to protect the marine environment.

*Note: HELMEPA designed the leaflet in the framework of the “Clean Islands” program with the support of Athanasios C. Laskaridis Public Benefit Foundation.


“Τhe Marine Environment: Understanding our connection with it”

Τhis e-publication (available only in Greek) was compiled in the framework of the three year-long (2012-2014) Marine Environment and Science Awareness Campaign, executed by HELMEPA in 12 Greek cities with the support of the Lloyd’s Register Foundation (the Foundation)*.

HELMEPA’s intention is to provide schoolteachers and any other interested parties, with specific information to cover those gaps in environmental knowledge and awareness which were detected during the running of the Campaign. The aim is to contribute to the efforts of schoolteachers in the classroom towards enriching the environmental knowledge of their students and furthermore, to help the latter in paving their professional orientation.

*Note: A charitable foundation, helping to protect life and property by supporting engineering-related education, public engagement and the application of research.


“Public Awareness for the Management of Marine Litter in the Mediterranean”

This publication in English was prepared by HELMEPA in cooperation with the NGOs Cleanup Greece and MIO-ECSDE and with the support of MED POL – UNEP/MAP. It is addressed to all Mediterranean stakeholders ie central/local authorities, agriculture, tourism, the maritime sector, land-based industries, mass media, NGOs etc.


Keep the Mediterranean litter-free

This poster/brochure was prepared by HELMEPA in cooperation with the NGOs Cleanup Greece and MIO-ECSDE and with the support of MED POL – UNEP/MAP. It contains useful information on marine litter for all stakeholders and has been printed in the following Mediterranean languages: Albanian, Arabic, English, French, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Maltese, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish.



This is my world!”

Produced by HELMEPA and disseminated to HELMEPA Junior children-Members, this motivational brochure contains useful advice on how to become more environmentally friendly in our everyday lives.
